How to book travel insurance
Never overlook travel insurance. It can cost as little as £10 for a week and can literally save you thousands of pounds if things go wrong. Accidents and illnesses can strike at any time and it's bad enough missing your holiday or having a problem without it costing a fortune too. We have also had good experiences with World Nomads Travel Insurance and it continues to get great reviews and recommendations on Social Media particularly if you are travelling for longer periods of time. It also offers insurance for over 140 nationalities. If you are travelling Europe you should get yourself a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) and understand what it covered (usually the same healthcare as is available to local people) If you already have one make sure it is in date. You can get more information and a free EHIC card here www.nhs.uk/ehic. You should still get insurance even if you have an EHIC card as it only covers you for basic healthcare and not things like repatriation if you are really sick, theft, cancellations and delays etc.. In my experience the best advice out there is on Money Saving Expert who will guide you through exactly what you need, how to buy a suitable policy and how to make a claim. They also advise on insurance for older travellers and those with pre-existing medical conditions which can sometimes be difficult to find or expensive. |
